St. Louis Blues Morning Links: Kings Come To Town

Good morning Blues fans! The St. Louis Blues are trying to find their way on home ice. They face fellow 50th Anniversary team, Los Angeles tonight.

The St. Louis Blues will try to figure out their home ice woes and fix a mini-losing streak they have going. They will have to do so against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings have given the Blues fits in recent years. In fact, 2015-16 was the first season in five that the Blues managed a winning record against their west coast nemesis.

So, the Blues have proven they can get it done, even if not overly convincing. Aiding their attempts to win will be the absence of Jonathan Quick.

The superstar netminder is out for months following a groin injury. That has not deterred the Kings though.

After an 0-3 start to the season, the Kings have now rattled off four straight wins. Peter Budaj has not put up spectacular numbers, but he’s making the timely save when called upon.

The Blues will need to take advantage of a more porous defense and goaltending. Though the Kings have won four straight, they have given up 10 goals in those games.

More important than just beating the Kings, the Blues need to learn to win at home. Whether real or imagined, the Blues have not remotely kept their arena as a fortress.

They need to find a way to turn home ice into an advantage or finishing higher in the standings won’t have any meaning.

Here are your St. Louis Blues Morning Links to get your day started off right.

As of writing this, there has been no word on official combinations. After what Ken Hitchcock said following the Detroit game though, do not be surprised to see some different lines on the ice against the Kings. (Fox Sports Midwest)

When most people think of the Blues, they think Brett Hull or Bernie Federko.  One guy who was there at the beginning and is still here is Bob Plager.  The team will make sure he’s there forever by retiring his number in February.  (STLToday)

Magnus Paajarvi seems to have things figured out in the AHL.  After clearing waivers and being sent to the Chicago Wolves, Paajarvi found his name on the score sheet. (Arch Authority)
