St. Louis Blues Look To Gain Confidence in Philadelphia

Tonight the Blues start a five-game road trip beginning with the Philadelphia Flyers, who they face for the second time this season.

The Blues will be lacking a goal-scoring forward because Robby Fabbri suffered an ACL injury Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was announced Fabbri will be out for the remainder of the season. I’m not sure how the team will respond now that they’ve lost one of their top forwards. Fabbri had 29 points, with 11 goals and 18 assists.

“That’s never something you want to see and we’re wishing the best for him,” said Blues forward Jaden Schwartz.

With Fabbri out, the Blues have recalled Magnus Paajarvi and Kenny Agostino from the AHL. So who is going to fill the gap left by No. 15? Magnus Paajarvi this season has 3 points. As for Agostino, he hasn’t played in the NHL since last year with the Calgary Flames. Agostino leads the AHL with 60 points and was linemates with Ivan Barbashev and Paajarvi. I am still wondering what Yeo will do with this NHL prospect.

I feel like if we have more offensive zone pressure and we can make tape-to-tape passes, we can win this game tonight. The recent call-ups from Chicago have a big role tonight as well; we really need some young talent who can skate the puck into the zone and take shots. More shots clearly leads to more opportunities.

As for the Flyers, they were in a struggle against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday losing in overtime 1-0. In the first meeting of the season with the Flyers, Fabbri netted a hat trick, giving the Blues a big 6-3 win.

Vladimir Tarasenko will be the player to watch tonight as he is tied for ninth overall in goals with 23 and he 50 points. Behind him, the Blues will be working for a playoff spot while the Flyers are looking to maintain their wild card position.
