San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture undergoes successful hand surgery

San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture is on the road to recovery after undergoing successful surgery on his hand.

Couture injured his hand in Game 6 of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs vs. the Los Angeles Kings.

Sharks general manager Doug Wilson released a statement on Tuesday about the surgery.

"Last week, Logan underwent successful surgery to repair a hand injury suffered in a fight in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against Mike Richards," said Wilson in a statement. "The procedure went as expected and Logan will be ready for the start of training camp."

Despite the injury, Couture played in Game 7 of the series, which the Sharks lost after leading 3-0.

The 25-year-old Couture had 54 points in 65 regular-season games and three points in seven playoff games in 2013-14.
