Sabres attempt to translate solid road starts to much-needed home success

The Buffalo Sabres have yet to learn the meaning of "home sweet home" this year. They are 8-13-2 at the First Niagara Center compared with a 9-9-2 road record, and the situation at home has only gotten worse of late, as Buffalo is 0-4-1 in its last five home games.

So the Sabres welcome the Boston Bruins to town Friday hoping to change that status, and to do so, Buffalo is looking to emulate some of the characteristics which have earned them success on the road. First on that list is a strong start.

Via The Buffalo News:

Although the Bruins have a strong road record of 12-5-3, the Sabres seem to have the Bruins number of late. Buffalo beat the Bruins, 6-3, in Boston on Dec. 26 and currently own a two-game win streak against Boston dating back to last season. If the Sabres can find a way to win Friday, they will earn their first three-game win streak against Boston since 2010-11.
