Red Wings players pose for photo with a little girl from inside penalty box

The wins and losses may not count for much during the NHL preseason but players still have opportunities to make some memories regardless. Those memories can come from the unlikeliest of places, even the penalty box.

That was the lesson learned during a Red Wings preseason game over the weekend when Wings players Steve Ott and Dylan Larkin made a little girl's day by sneaking into a photo with her from inside the sin bin.

Down the road, that little fan likely won't remember the score from Sunday's game (the Wings beat the Blackhawks 6-3) but there's a good chance she'll hang onto the adorable photo and fondly remember the guys who helped make it happen. That's the kind of preseason highlight that matters.
