Red Wings' Mrazek dealt cruel hand by 'Lady Luck' in charity tournament

Petr Mrazek has a difficult time accepting losing on the ice, but the Detroit Red Wings goaltender kept it in check following a bad beat at the card table.

Playing in a Texas Hold 'em tournament for charity at the Motor City Casino recently, Mrazek joined members of his team as they competed against fans that made a $400 donation to the Detroit Red Wings Foundation. The 23-year-old Mrazek wasn't too far invested into the tournament when he saw the tables turn on the river.

While Mrazek bowed out early, forward Gustav Nyquist was the last Red Wings player standing before "Lady Luck" dealt him a less-than-favorable hand.

Defensemen Brendan Smith and Danny DeKeyser finished second and third, respectively, among the players. 

Fellow blue-liners Kyle Quincey and Alexey Marchenko joined forwards Joakim Andersson, Justin Abdelkader, Luke Glendening, Riley Sheahan and Jakub Kindl among the Detroit players testing their skills at the poker table.

"I got pretty good cards. I got three kings and the (opponent), I think on the last card got the full house. So that was a good play. Three of us went all in."
