Red Wings' Larkin keeps ears open in talks with Hall of Famer Lindsay

Detroit Red Wings rookie Dylan Larkin has shown a willingness to learn from his elders this season.

Recently, the 19-year-old Larkin found himself face-to-face in the locker room with Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay - and it was the 90-year-old reportedly asking for his autograph. Larkin was all ears during the conversation, absorbing all that he could from "Terrible Ted" as the two discussed the game that they love.

This was not the first time that Larkin and Lindsay have talked hockey, as the two were spotted bending each other's ears in September as well.

Larkin has no issue looking toward his elders for either pointers or ways to improve his game.

Sidelined briefly with a head injury earlier this season, Larkin took the time to study the dynamic Pavel Datsyuk as the veteran forward weaved his way around the ice.

Larkin has already enjoyed a strong start to his NHL career, becoming the lone rookie to be selected to this season's All-Star Game - and the first from the Red Wings since Steve Yzerman.

The 15th overall pick of the 2014 draft, Larkin's 14 goals are tied with fellow forward Tomas Tatar for the team lead while his 30 points are one shy of captain Henrik Zetterberg entering play on Friday. Larkin's plus-21 rating is fourth-best in the league behind only Tyler Toffoli (Los Angeles Kings), Patrick Kane (Chicago Blackhawks) and Evgeny Kuznetsov (Washington Capitals).

Larkin looks to keep up his strong play on Friday as Detroit (23-15-8) attempts to snap a two-game winless skid against the Atlantic Division-rival Buffalo Sabres (19-24-4).
