Red Wings agree to 2-year deal with DeKeyser

DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Red Wings agreed to terms with defenseman Danny DeKeyser on Tuesday on a two-year deal, with an average cap hit just under $2.2 million.

The 24-year-old DeKeyser is coming off a fine rookie season in which he had four goals and 19 assists in 65 games. He averaged 21:38 of ice time, second to only Niklas Kronwall on the team.

DeKeyser made his NHL debut in 2012-13, appearing in 11 games in the regular season and two in the playoffs. He also joined the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins in the Calder Cup playoffs that season and helped them win the championship.
