Rangers player gives dad-advice to teen after helping him land prom date
New York Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello scored a goal on the ice Monday night and delivered an assist to a teenaged prom hopeful off the ice.
Vinny Mutone, an 18-year-old high school student from Bohemia, N.Y., attended Monday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with his girlfriend, Catherine de Pinho, and the pair came prepared with a sign that read "Zucc, if you give me your stick she'll go to prom with me!"
Mutone held the sign up during warm-ups, and his efforts paid off when Zuccarello grabbed an extra stick from the bench and got a security guard to deliver the stick to Mutone.
Via the New York Daily News:
“Gotta help a buddy out,” Zuccarello told reporters. “Gotta help him get to prom.”
But Zuccarello offered the couple more than just a stick; he also assisted with some dad-like advice for how to behave on prom night. Zuccarello signed the poster and the stick after the game and advised Mutone to "Have fun at prom. Treat her right!!!"
It gets even better for Vinny and Catherine thanks to #NYR @zuccarello36 signing the poster and stick!! pic.twitter.com/o57Qxgut9K

With a prom proposal that epic, it's no surprise that she said yes.
