Rangers' Lundqvist leaves after taking stick to face

PITTSBURGH (AP) New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist left the Rangers' playoff game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night after taking a stick to the face.

Lundqvist appeared to be scratched in the face when teammate Marc Staal's stick found its way between the bars on Lundqvist's mask with 48 seconds left in the first period. Lundqvist writhed on the ice in pain for several moments before being helped to the bench. He received treatment and remained in the game, getting beat by Pittsburgh's Patric Hornqvist with 18 seconds remaining in the period.

Lundqvist, making his 111th consecutive playoff start for New York, remained in the dressing room when the Rangers came out for the second period. He was replaced by backup Antti Raanta.
