Predators sign Kamenev, Trenin to three-year contracts
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville Predators have signed 18-year-old forwards Vladislav Kamenev and Yakov Trenin to three-year, entry-level contracts.
The Predators selected Kamenev in the second round with the 42nd overall pick in the 2014 entry draft. Trenin was chosen in the second round with the 55th overall pick in this year's draft.
Kamenev is expected to play his first season in North America in 2015-16. Kamenev ranked third among Kontinental Hockey League junior players in goals (six) and tied for fourth in points (10) in 2014-15. He helped Russia earn a silver medal at the 2015 World Junior Championship.
Trenin had 18 goals and 49 assists this past season for Gatineau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Kamenev and Trenin are currently attending the Predators' development camp that ends Saturday.
