Penguins' Bennett aggravates injury, out vs. Devils
Pittsburgh Penguins oft-injured forward Beau Bennett is hobbling again.
Coach Mike Sullivan told reporters on Monday that Bennett "obviously aggravated" an earlier injury and has been ruled out of Tuesday's tilt versus the Metropolitan Division-rival New Jersey Devils (25-19-5).
"Bennett) is being evaluated as we speak. We won't have more details on his situation until after the All-Star break."
Bennett appeared to injure his shoulder while delivering a hit to defenseman Luca Sbisa during Saturday's 5-4 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. The 24-year-old Californian was limited to just one shift in the third period of the contest, which was his first with the Penguins (23-17-7) since missing the previous 17 games with that same shoulder injury.
Bennett has endured several injuries in his relatively young career, including an undisclosed one while celebrating a goal in Pittsburgh's 3-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 13.
The 20th overall pick of the 2010 draft, Bennett has collected a career-high five goals and added five assists in 25 games this season.
