Panthers' Booth hit in face by puck
Florida Panthers forward David Booth was struck in the face by a puck in the first period and didn't return for the start of the second against Buffalo.
Booth was hurt with 2:31 left in the first period Friday after being struck by Buffalo defenseman Tyler Myers' dump-in along the boards in the Panthers' zone. Booth lay on the ice for a minute, before getting up on his own and skating to the bench while holding his jaw.
A Florida trainer and then a Sabres doctor checked on Booth, who then left for the locker room.
The Panthers had no immediate update on Booth's status. Booth is tied for the team lead with 21 goals and is second with 38 points. He hasn't missed a game this season after missing 53 last season because of a pair of concussions.
