The 27-year-old originally started with the Montreal Canadiens in 2015-16 before joining the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. But he only played one game for the Pens before joining Ottawa where he played in 40 putting up 2.50 goals against average with a .914 save percentage. Condon has been quite the superb goalie since entering the NHL helping the Canadiens in a time of need when Carey Price went down with an injury.
During that 2015-16 season, Condon saw 55 games and posted 2.71 goals against average with a .903 save percentage. Condon's rise to the NHL wasn't the usual, he started pro hockey in the ECHL with the Ontario Reign and then was loaned to the Houston Aeros of the AHL. After a solid season in the AHL, Condon was picked up by the Canadiens and the rest is history.
Now with Ottawa and starter Craig Anderson dealing with some very important family issues that may take him from the game for a long period of time next season, Condon could very well see significant ice time. But he should be good to go, after all, he does possess the potential to be a full-time starter.
