Oddsmakers say Bruins' Claude Julien will be first coach canned

If Claude Julien is a betting man, he might be a bit concerned about his fate. On Thursday, sports oddsmakers Bovada released their odds of which NHL coach will be the first to be fired this season, and Julien led the way with 3-2 odds. Los Angeles Kings coach Darryl Sutter ranked second with 2-1 odds of losing his job.

That's an interesting twist for Sutter and Julien as each of the pair coached the only two teams not named the Chicago Blackhawks to have won a Stanley Cup in the past six years. This season is a different story in Boston and Los Angeles, as both the Bruins and Kings were off to terrible starts to their seasons, as the Kings were 0-3 and the Bruins were 1-3 as of Thursday afternoon.

The full odds are as follows:

Claude Julien, Boston Bruins: 3-2
Darryl Sutter, Los Angeles Kings: 2-1
Todd Richards, Columbus Blue Jackets: 5-1
Mike Johnston, Pittsburgh Penguins: 11-2
Lindy Ruff, Dallas Stars: 6-1
Bill Peters, Carolina Hurricanes: 7-1
Bruce Boudreau, Anaheim Ducks: 11-1

If there turns out to be any truth to these odds against Julien and Sutter, it will be further proof that good memories don't last long in the NHL.
