Etem Claimed by Ducks
Drafted 29th overall in 2010 by Anaheim, Etem was eventually traded following a promising 10-point 45-game campaign in 2014-15 as part of the offseason Carl Hagelin deal. NHL Daily Morning Rant
Even following a historic four-goal performance for Auston Matthews, some in the hockey world took it upon themselves to find ways of spinning it into a joke. Things like “Matthews scores four goals, and Toronto still finds a way to lose”.
Get your laughs in while you can folks.
This franchise has been the butt of every joke for a long time now. It’s about time we had a bit of karmic redemption. Fact is, Brendan Shanahan and Lou Lamoriello have this organization on a path towards winning. It won’t be too many years now before the Maple Leafs are looked upon the same way we do a team like Tampa Bay today.
