New Jersey Devils Eager for Home-Opener Against Anaheim Ducks (Video)

The New Jersey Devils have yet to win a game this season, but they are eager to return to New Jersey for their home-opener on Tuesday.

It hasn’t been an awful start to the season for the New Jersey Devils, as they were able to get one point in an overtime loss to the Florida Panthers to start the season. Following the loss in overtime to the Panthers, the Devils played another close game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but they came up short.

Starting the season on the road against those two teams was a challenging task for the Devils, and getting out of their with a point isn’t a bad thing. Last season, both the Panthers and the Lightning were playoff teams, and the fact that the Devils played them so closely is encouraging for them this season.

On Tuesday, the Devils will be playing their first game at home against the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks have the poor luck of playing their first five games of the season on the road, and four of those games have been on the East Coast. In the Ducks’ most recent game, they lost to the New York Islanders in overtime after tying it late in the third period.

Even though the Ducks have yet to win a game this season, the Devils can’t take them lightly, as there is a lot of talent on the team. With a hungry team coming to town, the Devils will have to be prepared for a good shot from the Ducks.

So far this season, the Devils still are having some issues scoring the puck. Their big offseason acquisition of Taylor Hall hasn’t registered a point yet this season, and that is one of the reasons why they are ranked 29th in the NHL in goals per game early on.

Despite not scoring much in their first two games, the Devils are eager to play their home-opener on Tuesday. With the help of the fans in New Jersey, maybe the Devils will be able to have some success on offense against the Ducks.
