Nathan MacKinnon bests Lundqvist, scores insane goal to beat Sweden in OT

Nathan MacKinnon came up with a huge game-winning goal for Team North America at the World Cup of Hockey on Wednesday, and he earned some serious style points in the process.

With under a minute left to go in the 3-on-3 overtime period against Sweden, the 21-year-old MacKinnon found himself in all alone against Swedish netminder Henrik Lundqvist. That's when he did this:

It's so good you probably need it on an endless loop:

That little dangle around the poke-check? The perfect top-shelf backhander? It's all poetry in motion.

And it's worth pointing out that it was all made possible thanks to this great breakaway stop by North American goaltender John Gibson at the other end just a few moments earlier.

Unfortunately for North America's 23-and-under squad, they needed a win in regulation to ensure advancement out of the preliminary round, so they no longer control their own fate. However, they'll move on to the semifinals if Russia loses on Thursday.
