Nashville Predators Setting Record Sales, Peaking in Popularity

The Nashville Predators are smashing attendance and ticket sales records, taking the franchise to new heights.

The Nashville Predators have been creating buzz around the league with their recent front office moves and play on the ice . There’s a distinct excitement lingering in the air for the coming season, and it’s all part of a franchise reaching new ground on multiple levels.

On August 31st single-game tickets went on sale for the 2016-17 season, and Smashville responded with record-setting numbers- achieving over a 50 percent increase in opening week ticket sales.

Season-ticket sales have also seen a considerable bump, and all of this is coming on the heels of the most successful postseason run in Nashville Predators history- one that saw them only a game away from the Western Conference Finals.

The growth in popularity moving into the new season is undoubtedly tied to some extent to the addition of superstar defenseman P.K. Subban, the former Montreal Canadian who will now be patrolling the Smashville blue line. Subban is easily the most high-profile player the franchise has ever had on their roster, and he’s hopping on board while in the prime of his career.

All of this mind, it’s worth noting that the Nashville Predators popularity was already on the rise before either the Subban addition or postseason run. Last year the club set a single-season franchise attendance record of 695,828 fans in Bridgestone Arena.

The team set a record with 35 home sellouts, smashing the previous record of 30 while playing to a 99.2% capacity. That means the wagon was already stacked with fans heading into the team’s attention-drawing playoff run, but there’s still plenty of room on board as the team steers into a bright future.

Even with the new heights of popularity and fresh ink in the record books, schedule makers still only managed to book the Nashville Predators for an unbelievable TWO nationally televised primetime games. Hopefully, Smashville will be able to overcome this slight and rally for a season that will be impossible to ignore on the national level.
