Marc-Andre Fleury makes awesome diving stick save to deny a goal
Marc-Andre Fleury didn't have the most spectacular night at the office on Wednesday, but at least he took home a pretty sweet highlight for his troubles.
The Penguins goaltender allowed four goals on 29 shots during Wednesday's 5-2 preseason loss to the Red Wings. One of the 25 that he stopped came via a great diving stick save across the crease to deny the Wings a power-play goal.
Fleury's desperation stop robbed Detroit forward Teemu Pulkkinen, who was playing in his first preseason game this year after coming back from injury. I'm sure he would have loved to net one in his return but his inability to elevate the shot on a power-play chance came back to bite him.
As for Fleury, he's currently trying to win back his starting job as Matt Murray is sidelined with an injury, but stat lines like Wednesday's won't help his case. More saves like this probably won't hurt, though.
