Via the Kings’ press release, the dual stripes along the arms represent the franchise’s two Stanley Cup victories, while the striping along the bottom matches the layout worn in 1967-68, the first season in Kings history.

Also, there is a purple trim along the neck that has five gold diamonds, representing the five decades in Los Angeles and the team’s original color scheme. Gold traces are a nod to the team’s golden anniversary. Only 5,000-anniversary jerseys will be released.

We are excited to unveil our 50th Anniversary jersey and share it with our players, fans and partners,” Kings Chief Operating Officer Kelly Cheeseman said in a statement. “We believe it captures the great history we have here in Los Angeles and this is an exciting time on the whole for our franchise as the season is set to begin soon.

    Dates For Jersey’s

The team is going to wear their gold jerseys in the October 14 home opener against Flyers, who are another 1967 expansion club. LA has planned a total of 14 games where the team will wear the special threads.

Overall the 50th jerseys are pretty sweet. Generally, special jerseys made up are a nice change of pace for both the players and the fans. On a scale of 1-10, these jerseys are a solid 7.5. Most noteworthy the Flyers also creating a 50th-anniversary jersey. And it will be interesting to see if the teams battle each other wearing their 50th jerseys.
