Jarret Stoll charged with felony cocaine possession

By David Rogers

Roughly two months after being arrested at a pool in Las Vegas, Jarret Stoll has been charged with felony cocaine possession. Stoll was arrested back on April 17th after a voluntary pat-down produced 3.3 grams of cocaine. He now faces a court date on July 1st which ironically is the day his current contract with the LA Kings expires.

Via the OC Register:

If convicted of a felony, Stoll faces a maximum of four years in state prison but could receive a suspended sentence and probation at the discretion of the judge, according to information provided by the Clark County (Nev.) District Attorney’s Office. Stoll’s first court date is July 1.

If you’re unfamiliar with the details of the arrest, here’s a quick summary found in the same report from the OC Register:

Police said Stoll attempted to enter the pool area of a Las Vegas hotel when a security guard found cocaine and the drug MDMA in his pocket during a voluntary pat-down.

According to police, Stoll admitted that the 3.3 grams of powder in his pocket was cocaine.

Stoll’s felony charge comes as the Slava Voynov story continues to develop. The Kings have been at the center of some very controversial incidents over the past year and it appears that the club plans to address the situation. General manager Dean Lombardi has indicated he aims to bring in a speaker to discuss drugs and addiction with the team during training camp.
