Jackets' Dubinsky suspended one game for hit on Crosby

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky received a one-game suspension for cross-checking Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby on Friday night, the NHL's department of player safety announced on Saturday.

Dubinsky cross-checked the Penguins star in the back of the neck late in the second period of Columbus' 2-1 overtime win at home on Friday.

Crosby was slow getting to his skates and went to the locker room with 1:20 left, but returned for the third period and played the rest of the game. Dubinsky was assessed a minor penalty, and the NHL's department of player safety held a hearing about the incident on Saturday.

According to NHL.com, the suspension will cost Dubinsky $31,451.61, which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Dubinsky served the suspension Saturday night as the Blue Jackets visited the St. Louis Blues.
