Huberdeau's agent denies report of long-term contract

The Florida Panthers do not have an imminent long-term contract in the works with forward Jonathan Huberdeau, but the team has conducted preliminary talks according to Huberdeau's agent, Allan Walsh.

The 22-year-old former Calder Trophy winner had the best year of his career this past season, posting career highs in goals (15), assists (39) and points (54). He led the Panthers in scoring and had 10 more points than his closest competition, Jussi Jokinen (44).

Huberdeau just finished a three-year, entry-level contract and is due for a substantial pay raise.
