Flyers' Voracek on being demoted to third line: 'Upset? Not at all'
Forward Jakub Voracek hasn't been scoring and the Philadelphia Flyers have recorded a franchise-low 34 goals after the first 20 games of the season.
So with his team mired in a 137-minute, 34-second scoring drought, Voracek was in no position to get upset after coach Dave Hakstol shuffled him to the third line with Chris VandeVelde and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.
"Upset? Not at all," Voracek told the Courier Post ahead of Monday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes. "Vandy and Belly are great players. We didn’t score for the last two games so I think (Hakstol's) trying to spread it out and hopefully get the lines going and get some direction."
Voracek scored his lone goal of the season in overtime to lift the Flyers to a 3-2 victory over the Hurricanes on Nov. 14. The 26-year-old, who also has set up eight tallies, is far off the pace of last season's totals when he recorded career bests in assists (59) and points (81).
The seventh overall pick of the 2007 draft, Voracek has scored 125 goals and set up 256 others in 551 career contests with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Flyers.
