Flames vs Canucks live stream: Watch online

Here’s how to watch Saturday’s Pacific Division showdown between the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks online.

Two fierce rivals will meet for an early season clash when the Vancouver Canucks host the Calgary Flames on Saturday night at Rogers Arena.

Playoff hopeful Calgary will quickly try to forget about an ugly start to the season on Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers. Brian Elliott, who was acquired from the St. Louis Blues over the offseason for two draft picks, allowed six goals on 27 shots in his Flames debut.

Four different players scored for the Flames, including key offseason addition Troy Brouwer, but they could not stop Connor McDavid and company. Calgary will get another shot at Edmonton late Friday night at home before heading off to Vancouver.

On the other side, the Canucks will be playing for the first time in 2016-17. Vancouver will look to improve on last year’s 75-point campaign, which was the second-worst mark in the Western Conference.

Many expect the rebuild to continue this season for the Canucks, who are pegged once again to be among the bottom teams in the NHL. The top line of the Sedin brothers plus new addition Loui Eriksson should provide plenty of fireworks, but Vancouver is going to need better goaltending from Ryan Miller or Jacob Markstrom to be competitive this season.

Vancouver fans will need to wait awhile to see fifth overall pick Olli Juolevi in action, as he was returned to the juniors prior to the season.

A young Calgary team will want to avoid a slow start in the loaded Western Conference. No matter how good or bad the two teams are, a Vancouver-Calgary rivalry game is always fun to watch.
