Fan steals helmet, flaunts his crown

The fans have had enough. Rising ticket prices, $10 beers, millionaire crybaby players, dangers in the stands — a revolution is brewing. And the first shot was fired Wednesday night in Chicago.

And it started with a hockey helmet and a beer.

As the Blackhawks' Brandon Bollig drove the Jets' Adam Pardy into (and through) the glass, the scrum spilled into the stands. And the stands fought back.

What the video does not show is Pardy then getting beer dumped on his helmetless head, reportedly by a woman. You can see that here.

"I don't know what happened to my stick, either. It got lost in the crowd somewhere, too," Pardy told The Associated Press after the game, a 4-1 Chicago win. "Just a little insult to the injury, I guess. It was a tough night for all of us. It was tough enough to get put through the glass, but then to get a beer thrown on my head, too, it wasn't a good thing."

The victorious fan then showed off his new crown. At least Bollig had fun with it.
