Evander Kane parties hard at NBA All-Star Game, misses Sabres practice

Buffalo Sabres forward Evander Kane hit up the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto over the weekend, but his party came to an abrupt end Monday as the forward was suspended by the Sabres for one game after he failed to make it back to Buffalo for practice Monday morning.

Kane posted a photo to Instagram of himself with his sister at the All-Star Game Sunday and posted videos to his Snapchat page of some alcohol-related activities following the game that have since been deleted from his account. Sabres coach Dan Bylsma was not amused.

Kane has been involved in a few off-ice incidents in the past. In April 2014, Kane -- then a member of the Winnipeg Jets -- was made a healthy scratch for a game. Kanes' then-coach Paul Maurice told the media if Kane wanted back in the lineup, all he had to do was "probably just come to the rink." Last February, Kane reportedly was involved in a disagreement with his Jets teammates after he violated the team's dress code by showing up to a team event wearing a tracksuit. Some reports claimed teammate Dustin Byfuglien then threw Kane's clothes into the shower to send a message to the 24-year-old.

Kane has also been involved in a police investigation for an alleged sexually assault incident involving a woman at a Buffalo hotel on the morning of Dec. 27. Kane has not been arrested or brought up on any charges in relation to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.

Kane ranks sixth on the Sabres in scoring with 24 points (16 goals, eight assists) in 47 games. He will miss Tuesday's game against Ottawa as a result of missing Monday's practice.
