Ducks sign Horcoff to one-year deal

The Anaheim Duck have signed veteran center Shawn Horcoff to a one-year, $1.75 million contract.

The 36-year-old Horcoff finished with 11 goals and 18 assists in 76 games this season with the Dallas Stars.

Horcoff will play in his 15th season next year. The longtime Edmonton Oiler spent the last two years in Dallas. Horcoff has 180 career goals in 949 games.

Horcoff will see a bottom-six role, a position the Ducks may need for a chunk of the season knowing Nate Thompson will be out five to six months to repair two tears in his left shoulder.
