Ducks claim Hagman off waivers

The Anaheim Ducks have claimed left wing Niklas Hagman off waivers from the Calgary Flames.

The Ducks sent rookie Peter Holland back to the minors Monday to make room for Hagman.

The 31-year-old Hagman has played 707 NHL games for four clubs over the past decade, including three years with the Dallas Stars. He had four points in eight games with Calgary this season.

Hagman scored 20 goals in three consecutive seasons from 2007-10 with Dallas and Toronto. He also has appeared in three Olympics for Finland.

The Ducks hope Hagman can help an offense ranked last in the NHL in scoring despite the presence of MVP Corey Perry, captain Ryan Getzlaf and Teemu Selanne.

Holland appeared in four games with the Ducks, scoring his first NHL goal.
