Doug Gilmour traded his son away
Oh, the sting of athletic competition. You think you've felt it? You probably haven't felt it like Jake Gilmour felt it Wednesday, when he got traded by his dad.
Doug Gilmour is the general manager of the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League. His son, Jake, was on the Frontenacs until according to Rich Eisen at NHL.com, he was traded, along with a goalkeeper and a future draft pick, to Niagara. And it wasn't even a good draft pick. It was for the 12th rounder in 2015.
Nice playing with you too, Dad.
In 2012 Jake Gilmour was an eight-round OHL priority selection from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. He played 43 games last year for the Brampton Jr. B Bombers, getting eight assists.
