David Pastrnak takes one step forward in return to Bruins practice
Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak has been out for over a month with a broken foot, but the 19-year-old made a big step in his recovery Monday when he skated in his first practice with the team following the injury.
It took a long time for Bruins doctors to diagnose to broken bone. Pastrnak is believed to have suffered the injury when he took a Joe Morrow shot off the foot on Oct. 27. The team initially thought the foot was just bruised, but after limping through a short string of games, Pastrnak was officially shut down after Halloween. Nearly seven weeks later, the winger told reporters he now has no pain in the foot and just needs to get back into hockey shape.
Via the Boston Herald:
Pastrnak might see some time in the AHL for a conditioning stint before returning considering he has missed over a month of game action, but for now, the team will take it day by day.
"I’ve been on the bike, but nothing compares to skating," Pastrnak told reporters.

"It’s been seven weeks. It wasn’t a good injury, so it’s better to take more time and get it fully healthy than to [break it again and miss more games]. I’ve got to take it slowly."
