The Columbus Blue Jackets Have Re-Signed AHL Forward Alex Broadhurst, the Financials, However, Are Undisclosed.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced the signing of Alex Broadhurst, the 2011 seventh-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks moved to the Columbus organization in 2015. After spending two seasons in the USHL, Broadhurst moved to Canada and joined the London Knights for a single season after his draft year.

But in 2013-14 he made his professional debut for the Rockford IceHogs (Chicago's AHL affiliate) for two seasons putting up some decent numbers statistically. He would then join the Lake Erie Monsters/Cleveland Monsters and also put up two more solid seasons. Also in 2015-16, Broadhurst helped the Lake Erie Monsters grab a Calder Cup Championship when he put up 12 points in 17 playoff games.

With William Karlsson now gone to Vegas, Broadhurst could very well see some NHL time next season. But not a lot of it thanks to the emergence of forward Lukas Sedlak who really showed what he was worth last season.

Either way the Jackets still hold on to some depth down the middle. And with the experience and drive of Alex, he could very well take over that fourth line center position.
