Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Well We're Waiting

Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks popped up on a trade rumor alert yesterday, but when the day ended there wasn’t a trade just a trade rumor floating around the organization.

It was a Thursday morning, just like any other Thursday morning getting things accomplished at work when I received a trade rumor alert about the Chicago Blackhawks pursuing Nail Yakupov.

There is one thing I know about trade rumors, and that is usually when Jay Zawaski says his source says it’s going down it usually does. The thing is when I wake up on this Friday morning the trade still hasn’t happened.

The problem with Yakupov is that he has underperformed his entire time in Edmonton which should make most fans worry.  If you think about talented players that have not performed to their talent just think David Rundbladand then run from this trade rumor.

Rundblad was a high draft pick that never panned out, or well came close to justifying that high of a draft pick which is what worries me about Yakupov.  Do we really want to be anchored down to a player that has never lived up to his talents?

The Chicago Blackhawks last game was a good sign for the youth that they have in the system so the question for Stan Bowman is does he trust the Ryan Hartman‘s, Nick Schmaltz, Tyler Motte, Vincent Hinostroza, and Alexandre Fortin’s or does he go out of the organization and make a move for Yakupov.

Personally, I hope he stands pat for know, and gives the kids a shot especially Fortin, but I’m sure by the end of the weekend we will know which direction Bowman is going to go with this season.
