Chicago Blackhawks Jonathan Toews Appears To Be Returning Tonight
Chicago Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews has been out of the lineup for quite some time now, but it appears that he will return tonight when the Blackhawks take on the New York Rangers from Madison Square Garden.
Yesterday, we were told that the Chicago Blackhawks Captain Jonathan Toews, and defenseman Brent Seabrook were making the trip to the Big Apple for tonight’s Original 6 contest.
Well this morning it looks more and more like Toews will be back in the lineup tonight.
It’s not like the Chicago Blackhawks have been totally struggling without Toews in the lineup, but since he was injured during the circus trip the Chicago Blackhawks have struggled with winning face-offs. The Captain is one of the best in the NHL winning draws, so his presence in the lineup changes that dynamic instantly.
The Chicago Blackhawks are still the top dog in the Western Conference with all of the injuries they have suffered to key players early in the season. This has really grown the Chicago Blackhawks young kids that are getting big minutes this year.
Also on the ice during morning skate was Brent Seabrook, so it looks like 2/3 of the Chicago Blackhawks injured core will be back in the lineup tonight.
With Toews back in the lineup, it looks like Jordin Tootoo will be the odd man out of the lineup tonights which is just fine by me.
During morning skate, Toews was centering a top line with Marian Hossa and Ryan Hartman whose game has really solidified in the past month.
The real question mark is how Joel Quenneville juggles the bottom 6, and whether or not he puts Marcus Kruger on a scoring line or a checking line.
No matter who’s in the lineup and where they line up it doesn’t really matter to me tonight because Jonathan Toews is back in the lineup tonight!!
Let’s Go Hawks!!
