Canadiens acquire Scrivens from Oilers for Kassian

MONTREAL (AP) The Montreal Canadiens traded forward Zack Kassian to the Edmonton Oilers on Monday for goaltender Ben Scrivens.

Scrivens, 29, was 2-6-1 with AHL Bakersfield this season. He had a 3.47 goals-against average and .893 save percentage.

In 129 NHL regular-season games, Scrivens was 42-56-17 with a 2.90 GAA and .905 save percentage.

Kassian, 24, was acquired by the Canadiens last summer, but did not play in a regular-season game for Montreal. He was cleared to play in mid-December after spending more than two months in a substance abuse program. Kassian then cleared waivers and was assigned to AHL St. John's.

The physical winger has 35 goals and 31 assists in 198 NHL regular-season games.

Also Monday, the Oilers recalled goaltender Eetu Laurikainen from HPK of the Finnish Elite League and assigned him to Bakersfield.
