Canadian TV personality dresses as Sabres players in hilarious prank

What do you do when you land tickets to a hockey game right next to a team's bench? If you are Canadian TV personality Wilder Weir, you dress just like the team as part of an elaborate but hilarious prank. 

Weir and a friend scored tickets next to the Buffalo Sabres' bench for Wednesday's Montreal Canadiens game at the Bell Centre, and the pals dressed in full Sabres regalia in an attempt to distract the Sabres from the game. Weir and his friend went all out, rocking helmets, Gatorade-print towels and water bottles -- although Weir and his friend seemed to be more fond of the beer league tradition of supplementing any water intake with a few beers. The pair even adopted the usual mannerisms of a player on the bench waiting for his next shift. 

Weir explained more about the gag on Breakfast Television Montreal on Thursday. 

The tactic did not work, however, as the Sabres scored three goals in the third period to top the Canadiens, 4-2. The loss moved Montreal to 24-24-4 on the season, and the Habs are now 1-8-1 in their last 10 games.
