Cammalleri to wear No. 13 with Lamoriello gone
New Jersey Devils left wing Mike Cammalleri will have a new look once he takes the ice for the upcoming season.
Now, Cammalleri didn't alter the color of his hair or add a tattoo. Rather, the 33-year-old has opted to change his jersey from No. 23 to 13, becoming the first player to wear that number for the Devils.
Former New Jersey president and general manager Lou Lamoriello was against having that number on his team, according to the Bergen Record. Lamoriello is now the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have Hall of Famer Mats Sundin's No. 13 jersey hanging from the rafters of the Air Canada Center.
Cammalleri, who has worn other jersey numbers in his career, recorded a team-leading 27 goals and 15 assists in 68 games with New Jersey last season. The Ontario native has scored 263 goals and set up 281 others in 737 career contests with the Los Angeles Kings, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens and Devils.
