Buffalo Sabres vs Anaheim Ducks: Pregame Chatter
The Buffalo Sabres won a game they should have lost against a tough Western Conference foe Tuesday – will they continue to live dangerously tonight?
Tonight the Buffalo Sabres host the Anaheim (Mighty) Ducks at KeyBank Center at 7 pm (4pm is you are on the West Coast). Buffalo is coming off of a stellar come from behind victory Tuesday night, at home, against the San Jose Sharks, while the Ducks are coming off of 4-1 loss Tuesday night against the Rangers at MSG.
Buffalo is still chasing their pipeline dream of making the playoffs. They are 5 points out of the last Wild Card spot (https://www.nhl.com/standings). The Sabres are currently 22-21-10 with 54 points while the Ducks are flying high with 28-17-10 and 66 points on the season.
The real question for tonight is “if” and “when” the Buffalo Sabres will show up to play. For all intents and purposes, the Sabres should have lost Tuesday night’s game against the San Jose Sharks. For some reason, the team decided to show up for the last 6 or 10 minutes of the game. Will the Sabres play 6 minutes tonight or 60 minutes?
As fans, we all know that Coach Dan Bylsma can’t motivate his players. Maybe it was all the Sabres fans in KeyBank Center boo-ing the Sabre after the 2nd period that motivated them to play this past Tuesday. If that’s the case, maybe the fans should boo the team tonight right after Doug Allen sings the Canadian and American National Anthems. Who knows, maybe Pavlov’s Law would work on the Sabres. At the end of the day, it’s up to the Sabre players themselves on whether or not they want to play. With that being said, I’m not too confident in the Sabres tonight. Thankfully us viewers at home have the TV remote so we can channel surf if the Sabres start trailing 4-1 again…
I dropped Grandp Ziggy a line to remind him about the game. He emailed back, “I hope the Sabres will win, that’s my hope each time they play. I don’t like when the take a lunch during the play because than they are in trouble.”
