Buffalo Sabres recall rookie forward Corey Tropp

The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Corey Tropp from the minors to fill in for injured center Cody McCormick.

Buffalo's 2007 third-round draft pick rejoins the Sabres a week after making his NHL debut, in which he had a goal and assist in four games. Tropp also has four goals and three assists in 11 games this season with Rochester of the American Hockey League.

Tropp is expected to play Wednesday night, when the Northeast Division-leading Sabres host New Jersey.

McCormick sustained an undisclosed injury in a 3-2 shootout win at Montreal on Monday. Coach Lindy Ruff would only say that McCormick was not feeling well.
