Bruins' prospect Subban 'doing well' following surgery to repair fractured larynx
Boston Bruins goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban underwent surgery on his fractured larynx and is expected to be sidelined at least eight weeks, the team announced on Thursday.
Subban was struck in the throat with a puck during warm-ups prior to Saturday's American Hockey League contest pitting the Providence Bruins against the host Portland Pirates. After being transported to Maine Medical Center, the 22-year-old Subban was shuffled back to Boston.

"Malcolm underwent successful surgery on (Monday) at Mass Eye & Ear Hospital in Boston to repair his larynx fracture. He is doing well and has been released from the hospital. While there is no definitive timetable for his return at this time, he is expected to be out a minimum of eight weeks."
Subban, who is the younger brother of Montreal Canadiens All-Star defenseman P.K. Subban, is 14-8-5 with a 2.44 goals-against average this season with Providence.
The 24th overall pick of the 2012 draft, Subban struggled in his one career NHL start on Feb. 20. He yielded three goals on six shots before being relieved in the second period of a 5-1 setback to the St. Louis Blues.
