Blackhawks' Toews tops list of 2015 NHL jersey sales

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews is quite the popular fellow.

Toews' No. 19 was the top-selling jersey in 2015 among NHL players from its online store, the league announced on Friday. The 27-year-old Toews is a 2010 Conn Smythe Trophy and 2013 Selke Trophy recipient as well as a 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics gold-medal winner with Canada.

Perhaps winning three Stanley Cups in six seasons played a role in selling jerseys since the second-place finisher was teammate and fellow All-Star Patrick Kane, who led the league in jersey sales in 2014.

The rest of the players in the Top 10 list for jersey sales were:

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin, Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux, Detroit Red Wings veteran Pavel Datsyuk and Los Angeles Kings star Anze Kopitar did not make the list for last season despite earning spots on the 2014 Top 10 list.
