Blackhawks D Campbell makes season debut

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell is back in the Stanley Cup champions' lineup after recovering from a preseason knee injury.

Campbell, who sprained his right knee in the second period of a preseason game against Pittsburgh on Oct. 1, made his regular-season debut Monday night against the New York Rangers.

He was in the Blackhawks' starting lineup alongside defense partner Duncan Keith, last season's Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's top defenseman.

The 31-year-old Campbell, beginning his third season with the Blackhawks, had seven goals and 31 assists in 68 games last season. He added one goal and four assists in 19 postseason games during Chicago's championship run.

Nick Boynton, who played in 12 of Chicago's first 13 games, was scratched from the lineup against the Rangers.
