Blackhawks' Crawford has new mask for outdoor game vs. Wild

Goaltender Corey Crawford will be sporting a new look on Sunday when his Chicago Blackhawks visit the Central Division-rival Minnesota Wild at TCF Bank Stadium.

Crawford's new red, white and black mask features snowflakes to provide a nice little backdrop for the outdoor event. The two-time Jennings Trophy recipient had a bit of input on the mask, which was designed by Stephane Bergeron of La Griffe Originale.

"I wanted a little something with a 'Winter Classic' feel. So it's pretty much a bold design, because it's kind of hard to see detail from further in the stands."

Crawford's No. 50 on top of the helmet and the word "HAWKS" across the chin are pretty visible, however.

The 31-year-old Crawford (31-14-3, 2.19 goals-against average) is in the midst of potentially a career season, but has dropped three in a row heading into Wednesday's tilt with the New York Rangers.
