Blackhawks activate Rozsival from long-term injured reserve

The Chicago Blackhawks are beginning to get healthier on the back end.

The Blackhawks activated veteran defenseman Michal Rozsival from long-term injured reserve, the team announced on Friday. Rozsival could be in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Central Division-rival St. Louis Blues while fellow blue-liner Duncan Keith (knee) is in line to return either Saturday or Sunday against the Calgary Flames.

Sidelined with a left ankle fracture, Rozsival suffered his injury during Game 4 of the second-round series versus the Minnesota Wild. The 37-year-old Rozsival re-signed with the Stanley Cup winning-Blackhawks in September after collecting one goal and 12 assists in 65 games in 2014-15.

A fourth-round pick of the 1996 draft, Rozsival has scored 66 goals and set up 227 others in 890 career contests with the Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, the then-Phoenix Coyotes and Blackhawks.

In a corresponding move on Friday, the Blackhawks sent fellow defenseman Erik Gustafsson to Rockford of the American Hockey League.
