Avalanche vs Penguins live stream: Watch online

Here’s how to watch Monday’s matchup between the Colorado Avalanche and Pittsburgh Penguins online.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins will try for their third straight win to open the season when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Monday at the Consol Energy Center.

Pittsburgh is off to a fantastic start behind back-to-back victories over a pair of title contenders. The Penguins took down the Washington Capitals in a shootout on Thursday night before beating the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 two days later.

With goaltender Matt Murray out due to a broken hand, Marc-Andre Fleury has made 73 saves on 77 shots in the two wins. Evgeni Malkin has shaken off his poor World Cup of Hockey form with three points to lead the Penguins in the early going. Sidney Crosby remains sidelined with a concussion, although he was able to skate in practice on Saturday.

Looking to bounce back from a horrid 82 point season, the Avalanche are also off to a good start in 2016-17. Colorado took down the Dallas Stars in a wild 6-5 contest on Saturday night in its lone game of the year so far.

In his first game with the Avalanche after being acquired from the Calgary Flames in the offseason, Joe Colborne recorded a hat trick by the 7:05 mark of the second period. Dallas features a terrific offense, but the Avalanche will need better goaltending from Semyon Varlamov moving forward.

A 3-0 start would be a dream for the Penguins before they head on the road for their first away game of the season on Tuesday night against the Montreal Canadiens. Monday’s game begins at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, with full streaming details available below.
