Anaheim Ducks Sign Forward Sam Carrick to New Deal

The Anaheim Ducks Have Re-Signed Ex-Maple Leafs Player to a New Deal.

It was announced Tuesday afternoon that the Anaheim Ducks have signed center Sam Carrick to a new two-year two-way contract extension that will expire at the end of the 2018-19 season. The financials, however, are not available but the least he can be paid is $650,000 per season with the most being $975,000, that's at the AHL level at least, if he plays in the NHL at all in the next two seasons, he could receive pay for doing so.

Carrick, now 25 has put up 139 points in the AHL between the San Diego Gulls, Rockford IceHogs and the Toronto Marlies. He also played a few games for the Maple Leafs when he was still with the organization putting up two points in 19 career NHL games. Also, the ex-Toronto fifth round pick in 2010 has played ten Calder Cup playoff games with San Diego putting up seven points, four goals, and three assists. And in 15 regular season games with San Diego, Carrick managed 11 points.

Carrick still has great upside since he has a lot of offensive potentials and good size at 6'0" and 210 pounds. However, it seems Carrick may be destined for the AHL since he's yet to stick it out in the NHL with the Leafs and so far the Ducks. But at least he's still playing professional hockey which is all that matters!
