Alex Steen gives puck to little girl, makes her day (Video)

Alex Steen made a little Blues fan’s night by giving her a puck during warmups.

It’s the dream of every kid and their parents to get a puck during warmups at NHL games. Luckily, hockey players are quite generous with pucks during warmups. Alex Steen of the St. Louis Blues is even more generous than the average hockey player, as he often gives pucks to fans even in away arenas. During the Blues opening night win over the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center, Steen found an adorable little Blues fan and flipped her dad a puck.

You can see her parents light up when Steen flips her dad the puck. The kid might be way too young to understand the gesture, but now her parents have a pretty cool story to tell their kid. Karma smiled upon Steen, as he picked up two assists in the Blues 5-2 win over the Blackhawks. It’s nice to see kind and generous players do well.

Steen is in his 12th season. He has spent all but three seasons with the Blues. Steen was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the 2002 NHL Draft. He got traded to the Blues, where he has thrived. In nine seasons with them, he has played in 457 games. He has 147 goals and 210 assists for 357 points in those 457 games. Last season, Steen helped the Blues advance to the Western Conference Finals with four goals and six assists for 10 points in 20 playoff games.

After the departure of David Backes, Steen will serve as one of the Blues’ alternate captains. Without Backes and Troy Brouwer, the Blues will be counting on Steen to continue to be a productive player while handling a lot of responsibilities. Those responsibilities extend to off the ice, and as the pleased parents suggest, he does a good job.
