WR Roddy White's streak of 130 straight games with a catch ends

Wide receiver Roddy White has been the definition of consistency for the Atlanta Falcons in recent years. More specifically, he's been involved in every single regular season game since 2006. According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, White has had at least one catch in every regular-season game he's played in dating back to December 3, 2006 against the Washington Redskins.

This means that, as Ledbetter explains, White had caught a ball in 130 straight regular-season games heading into Week 2. Unfortunately, White went catchless in Atlanta's 24-20 victory over the New York Giants.

For White, it didn't matter about not getting a catch, it just mattered that his team won the game.

“Just didn’t get the ball,” White told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We are 2-0. It doesn’t matter.”

That's a pretty incredible stretch. Although it's now over, there's still a whole lot of respect for a player catching a ball in that many consecutive games. The good news for Falcons fans is that while White went catchless, the team is 2-0 and seems to have made a complete 180 from last season.
