Why Saints fans loathe the Atlanta Falcons
I can only imagine the flurry of emotions that come when reading that one headline. Just saying those two words can bring a natural reaction of anger when hearing them. There is no love lost between the two franchises. Here is just some of the reasons:
Next: Loyalty

Kicker Morten Andersen played for both teams, and he said it best. He played for the Saints for 13 years until he was cut. After, Andersen played eight more years for the Atlanta Falcons. No one is better suited to give an unbiased opinion since Andersen raised two sons there near Lake Lanier outside of Atlanta.
“Saints fans are more loyal, they come to every game, just like they did when the Saints were the Aints and fans wore bags on their heads. If the Falcons are bad, the fans don’t show up. Atlanta is a transient city, and there’s a lot more to vie for people’s time. If you move to New Orleans, you better become a Saints fan pretty quick or you’re going to be lonely.”
There’s really nothing to add to that. Saints fans are in it for the long haul. It’s not even close of who likes their team more.

I mean seriously, airport workers from the city of Atlanta egging the team bus? This is just one example of how the “Dirty Birds” have acted dirty over the years. There are countless other stories from fans and the media that bring a bad light on the Falcons as well as the city of Atlanta.

There are people that travel all around this great country that tell me all the time how great the people are in the city of New Orleans. From the food to the southern hospitality, to the genuine love of camaraderie, the people is what make the city great here. It’s unheard of to hear much love for the people of Atlanta.
Sure, there is no doubt the business edge is in Atlanta and there are more material things to strive for in Atlanta. In contrast, New Orleans is known for its simplicity and down home people that love to sit next to you and have a good time.
As former Saints quarterback Bobby Hebert says “Le Bon Temps Roule” which means “Let the good times roll.” The city of New Orleans is in a class of its own simply put.
